Getting Into a Hospitality Management MBA Program

Getting Into a Hospitality Management MBA Program

Students interested in enrolling in a hospitality management MBA program need a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school. The degree does not have to be related to business, but students should have an average grade point average of 2.0 or higher. However, keep in mind that some institutions, such as South University, have a higher minimum GPA requirement. While an undergraduate degree in business is not necessary, students should be proficient in algebra-level mathematics and have taken some classes in business, such as in introductory courses for business foundations and accounting courses. In addition to these prerequisites, students should be prepared to submit the following documents along with their completed application:

  • college transcript
  • proof of GMAT scores
  • current resume detailing previous work experience
  • essays following provided prompt
  • letter of program intent
Some programs, such as DeVry University’s hospitality management MBA program, will require that applicants come in to a campus location for an interview as well. To determine exactly what your prospective school requires, contact them directly.
