Program Objectives

This program is offered at Les Roches by the “Universidad Europea” in Madrid (UEM), one of Spain's leading business universities. The UEM is recognized by the Ministry of Education in Spain, guaranteeing recognition within the European Union.

Our MBA program can help you manage these changes and evolve in your career with the knowledge and experience to address the future challenges in the industry. This MBA aims to develop young professionals into more effective individuals so that they are able to progress to senior managerial positions.


Program Overview

Over 25 leading international hotel companies were consulted in the development of this program in order to ensure that the most relevant, effective and dynamic courses are offered. Through its industry relevant and academically grounded curriculum, the program (MBA in Hospitality Management) will challenge students so that they become “reflective” individuals, empowered to meet the challenges of ambitious and wide-ranging career aspirations.
The program (MBA in Hospitality Management) consists of 4 modules of 10 weeks each, followed by an 8 months dissertation which will be completed in the workplace. Students may choose either the finance or the marketing track depending on their motivation and objectives.

Module 1 : Developing Leadership Abilities
This module concentrates on the Human aspect of executive management which is most important in the running of a successful hospitality business. You will examine leadership, business relationships, development of managers and organizational strategy, in both the classroom and your own workplace

Module 2 : Mastering Hospitality Technologies
This module focuses on hospitality leading edge technologies which are vital for any company to keep its competitive advantage. Hotel companies are spending millions in development of new business practices. As an executive, you need to understand what is involved in these new technologies that are revolutionizing the hotel industry.

Module 3 : Gaining Business Acumen
In today’s competitive world, and as an executive, you need exposure to the fundamentals of finance, marketing and economics. Courses in this module will allow you to explore more specialized subjects in finance or marketing, and at the end of this module, you will select either Hospitality Finance or Marketing as your area of concentration for continued study.

Module 4 : Adding value through a specialization
This specialized module (either in Finance or Marketing), students will gain in-depth management knowledge combining applied theory and some real world case studies conducted outside the classroom.


Admission Requirements

1. Normally aged 24 years old or above.

2. A completed application form with all pertinent attachments and an application fee of CHF. 100.- (for new students).

3. A completed study plan form, dated and signed.

4. Must hold a Bachelor Degree from an accredited Institution of higher learning in any field.

5. A confidential reference form which the Admissions Department will send to the candidate upon receipt of his/her application.

6. If English is not your mother tongue or if you have not studied in an English speaking school for at least three years please enclose one of the following:
  • 6.1. TOEFL: minimum score of 550 points for the paper based test, 213 points for the computer based test and 79-80 on the internet-based test. The TOEFL testing code number for Les Roches is 9827.
  • 6.2. Cambridge First Certificate: grade B.
  • 6.3. I.E.L.T.S. Students must apply to take the Academic Module examination and obtain a minimum overall band of 5.5 and score at least 5.5 in each sub-category (listening, reading, writing, speaking).
7. A valid medical certificate.
